21/12/18 - The building of a world class visitor centre in the Hebrides, which will tell the story of the Iolaire tragedy has taken a step forward after unanimous agreement within a working group of stakeholders to move the project to detailed planning and funding stage.

07/12/18 - Scotland’s aquaculture sector could expand beyond inshore waters in the next few years, in a move that could boost the sector’s economic value by around £3.7m, creating more jobs. Leading aquaculture equipment supply firm, Gael Force Group, has secured a £457,000 contribution from the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), more than half of which is from the agency’s Accelerating Aquaculture Innovation (AAI) fund.

17/04/18 - With less than five weeks to go until the most important Aquaculture exhibition and conference in Britain, Gael Force Group is gearing up for its biggest exhibition presence yet. Their attendance at Aquaculture UK will see the Group reside across more than 120 square metres of exhibiting space with two stands focusing on exciting new product launches and innovation, as well as the introduction of Fusion Marine as part of the Gael Force Group.

14/02/18 - An Lanntair has announced plans for the installation of a new Centenary Sculpture at Holm at the approach to Stornoway Harbour. It overlooks the site of one of the most devastating peacetime tragedies in British maritime history when HMY Iolaire foundered on the Beasts of Holm in the early hours of New Year’s Day 1919 with the loss of 201 lives.
