Gael Force Engineering secure Dunstaffnage Marina Contract

Dunstaffnage-and-Gael-Force.jpgGael Force Engineering of Forres have secured a significant project to expand Dunstaffnage Marina near Oban.  The expansion comprises standard yacht berthing pontoons along with an additional 200-metres of heavy concrete pontoons. This new facility will not only accommodate a greater number of boats, but in particular super yachts or vessels that are 80-feet in length.

Stephen Offord, production director with Gael Force Engineering said, “Apart from providing berthing, the extra facility will, by its innovative design, add strength to the existing marina structure. ” He added, “It will also provide some much needed additional wave protection from the north.”

Marina manager, Ranulph McLauchlan said that, “Dunstaffnage is a wonderful location for sailors, growing in popularity for many years and is now recognised by super yachts alike.” He went on, “Many see us as a convenient northern marina which is ideally suited as a setting off point to explore the Western Isles.”

The work is due to be completed by May with bookings for space already coming in. The Marina is a 5 Gold-Anchor facility and is part of a growing network of marinas and local pontoons drawing people from far and wide to experience what Scotland’s waters has to offer.
