GAEL FORCE : AQUACULTURE
Overview
Gael Force has worked in the aquaculture industry for many years and have a close working relationship with fish farm operators in Scotland, Ireland, the Faroes and Norway. We design and build feed barges of capacity up to 500 tonnes at our 3 acre fabrication site at the mouth of the River Ness in Inverness, adjacent to our headoffice and main warehouse. Our feed barges are constructed through an innovative on-water technique utilising our own developed submersible pontoons which allows us to build and fit out concrete barges – favoured in the industry due to their ruggedness and low maintenance – at a high level of efficiency.
Alongside feed barge design and construction, we specify, design and assemble high holding power, multi node mooring systems for securing fish cages/pens and feed barges. Our mooring systems are in use in some of the most exposed farm sites in the Northern hemisphere and have been proven in extreme weather conditions to be rugged, reliable and trusted.
Through working closely with fish farm operators, we have built an inside knowledge of aquaculture equipment and we offer a single source supply to some of the principal operators in the industry of general equipment, hardware and consumables. This service in Scotland includes a weekly delivery service to farm using our own fleet of vans, online ordering and a dedicated sales desk for aquaculture customers.
